Strengthening your client-side bot protection
Our platform is an AI-based User and Entity Behaviour Analytics (UEBA) cybersecurity solution that can detect non-human activity quickly and accurately through the use of micro-behavioural analytics.
The classification of a user’s journey either as a malicious bot or a genuine human visitor is a task which suits the Supervised Machine Learning (ML) model as this works as a binary (two class) classification problem.
We use the XGBoost (Extreme Gradient Boosting) algorithm as our base – because this model has high efficiency, flexibility and performance – and works well for supervised learning tasks and especially well for tabular classifications.
Although other cybersecurity solutions use the term bot protection, they don’t mean what we mean when we describe how our client-side bot protection works. Many of these other tools don’t provide any genuine protection against sophisticated “human-mimicking” bots.
Veracity’s Web Threat Protection works by capturing behavioural patterns directly where the user, or bot, is – directly in the browser or mobile app.
We do this because it’s the only place where user behaviours are available. Bot protection tools that operate at the Network Edge, or by analysing server logs, don’t have access to user behaviours. These, however, are the only way to identify the difference between a genuine human visitor or a sophisticated, and often AI-powered, malicious bot.
It’s also the only client-side bot protection platform to provide sector specific cyber defence. Bots working on breaking into ecommerce websites are different than those trying to scrape content from an online gaming app.
