Veracity Group CEO attends InnoEX in Hong Kong

Veracity’s Group CEO Nigel Bridges was out in Hong Kong earlier this month as part of a UK Pavilion at the third InnoEX and 21st Hong Kong Electronics Fair.

The UK Pavilion, organised by the UK Department for Business and Trade (DBT), showcased cutting-edge products and solutions of Hanover Displays, The Virtual Tour Experts, unifi.id, Veracity, Johnson Controls, Arm, Paperpost Asia and Keywave Technology Limited.

Driven by the Innovation, Technology and Industry Bureau of the Hong Kong SAR Government and the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC), the Business of Innovation and Technology Week (BIT Week) took place from April 13-16th at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre.

The two exhibitions showcased global innovation and technology (I&T) achievements, leading-edge electronics products, and advanced technology solutions addressing various business pain points.

InnoEX focused on five key technology areas, showcasing cutting-edge solutions in low-altitude economy, AI, robotics, cybersecurity, and smart mobility. Newly introduced themed days also explored solutions tailored for SMEs, among others.

In an interview with Wen Wei Po reporter Zhuang Chengmin, Veracity’s CEO Nigel spoke about the work the company is doing with artificial intelligence behaviour analysis technology to prevent malicious robot programs that imitate humans.

Nigel also spoke about how he believes there is room for development in markets like Hong Kong and Southeast Asia. Veracity has recently acquired our first customer in Hong Kong and are hoping to recruit more customers and partners in the region.

He noted that malicious bots pose a significant threat to businesses of all sizes. They can cause severe financial loss, reputational damage, and personal harm, including stolen data, account takeover, and wasted advertising budgets.

Last year Veracity expanded into the Asian market with a base in Singapore and we’re now looking at establishing further connections in Hong Kong.

Nigel added: “There is a huge demand for our services in Hong Kong and the Greater Bay Area, so we are eager to establish a foothold here because the people here are full of innovative spirit and the market is full of vitality.”

During the final day of InnoEx Nigel was interviewed by Carolyn Wright, from Radio Television Hong Kong (RTHK), for the Podcast The Close (pictured below).

Nigel’s interview can be heard here around the 14-minute mark:

And he also took part in a panel discussion chaired by Bangdao Chen, alongside Desmond Ho, Ivy Li, Rémy Bigot, on the future of AI, talking about: “AI Unplugged: Conversations in Tech” in front of a packed audience (pictured below).

“It’s been eye opening to see the pace of technology development in the region – we really are on the cusp of AI-driven transformation that will impact all of our lives, whether you are prepared for it or not. Some really cool tech here as well,” he added.
