Facebook work accounts are on the cards
Facebook work accounts – this can’t come some enough for my business as a Social Media & Marketing Company.
Of course, the announcement also comes with a few reservations.
Do you want your employees to access Facebook through their accounts? As an employee do you want access with the endless notifications or the worry that you may post on the wrong account, I have seen that happen so many times!
Do you need a business page (of course you do!) but you don’t want a personal Facebook account or want it linked to your personal profile?
What happens if the person who set up your Facebook business account leaves?
So many times I have visited businesses where they can’t access their social media as they have let a previous member set it up and now they no longer have access. Can you imagine building your brand and profile on Facebook and in a matter of seconds it’s gone? You can’t even delete it, let alone use it.
What happens if you are admin on an account and you lose access to your account, or Facebook temporarily suspends it. You won’t be able to access that page then either.
It’s a social media nightmare for anyone.
Facebook work accounts under trial
But good news is coming – throughout the remainder of 2021, Facebook is testing something called “Work Accounts” — a.k.a. a godsend to social media managers and companies everywhere.
Work Accounts will allow business owners/staff or social media managers to access Business Manager separately from their personal Facebook account – no more admins, no more notifications out of hours, no more worry that you could lose your account.
Facebook have said that you will also be able to use a single sign-on to access your business accounts – just like with Instagram. Although this will be one sign-on for all account linked to the business suite.
Testing is occurring with a small group of businesses at the moment, but availability is expected to expand in 2022.
Bring it on!
